Southern I guess!
Why is it that so many people critize what we eat? I had a friend the other day eating Cottage cheese and Peaches and everytime she took a bite people were making comments on how nasty and gross that really was. I of course was doing the same thing right there with them talking about how nasty it was and it made me think. Have I ever tried this before? Why did I think this choice of foods was nasty? I stopped on the way home from work at the store and I bought a tub of cottage cheese and a can of peaches just to ensure that after I tasted it that I would still agree it was gross. To my surpise it was the most delightful snack I have had in years. Why are we always so quick to critize but so hesitant to try the things we say we don't like. Life's lesson today is don't critize things until you have at least tried it! You never know how your taste can change and you will never try anything new if you sit around and say you won't like it!
Remember!
Remember when your parents told you that someday you will pay for your raising. I never thought of that until walking through the mall the other day when I realized that parents all around me were screaming and yelling at their kids and tellig them, "Get over here or your in trouble!" I laughed because I remembered my parents telling me that all the time and how it made me run as fast as I could back to them because I wasn't about to get them pissed at me again. How many things that our parents said to us as children carried on to us in our adulthood? My parents were the best parents that they could be and I am thankful for that but I find my self the older I get saying the same things that they did. I know looking back at my family that my mother and I are a lot alike but still so different. She is a neat freak and I clearly by all the books and papers scattered around my house are not. What did your parents say to you that you find yourself saying now? You are what you wanted to become but how much of that drive and ambition comes from our parents? I still wonder everyday what would have been different had I had different parents!
